Hour of Code at BBES

Wed, 11/30/2016 - 10:51am

We live in a world surrounded by technology. We know that whatever field our students choose to go into as adults, their ability to succeed will increasingly hinge on understanding how technology works. Only a tiny fraction of us are learning computer science, and fewer students are studying it than a decade ago.

That’s why our entire school joined in on the largest education event in history: The Hour of Code. During Computer Science Education Week (Dec. 5-9), every one of our students will be amongst over 2 million worldwide spending one hour learning the basics.

We encourage you to join your student during his/her technology class the week of December, 5th-9th.  We will spend the entire hour interacting with coding activities, including the Code.org.  Your child can visit Code.org at home too.  It can be found in the "C More Apps" section of the HCPSS.me page.
