Entries Welcomed for the Young Authors’ Contest

All students in 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade are invited to submit a poem and/or a short story for the county-wide Young Authors’ Contest. Winter break may just be the perfect time for creative inspiration!

• Entries must be original work
• All entries must use no less than 12 point font using Times New Roman or Comic Sans font
• Short story entries may range from a minimum of 300 words to no more than 800 words
• Poem entries will consist of a single poem, any style, from a minimum of 25 words to no more than 150 words
• Entries must not include graphics
• Include a completed cover sheet signed by the student author and sponsoring teacher (See the packet distributed to students)
• Entries are due January 6, 2016
